> Ocean Network is a decentralized, peer-to-peer (P2P) GPU compute network for pay-per-use AI and ML workloads. It connects compute users with GPU node operators through an escrow-protected payment mechanism, with an editor-native workflow via Ocean Orchestrator.

- **Ocean Nodes**: the worker layer that executes containerized jobs, enables Compute-to-Data, stores and indexes data, and supports P2P communication.

## How it compares

Ocean Network offers pay-per-use pricing, escrow-protected payments, and an editor-native workflow. AWS GPU/EC2 charges for idle time and has no editor-native workflow. Akash Network and io.net offer pay-per-use but no editor-native workflow or local output saving.
