Does the node operator see my raw data?
Jobs run in a dedicated, ephemeral container that is torn down after execution. Assets are encrypted, and decryption is governed by Ocean Protocol smart contracts, not the node operator. You can also run on trusted Ocean Nodes and choose the node or environment you want based on benchmarks and history, giving you more control over where your data is processed.
What are COMPY tokens?
COMPY tokens are compute credits used inside Ocean Network to pay for pay-per-use compute jobs. New users can also receive COMPY Complimentary Credits, which can be spent on compute within the network.
Why convert USDC to COMPY?
COMPY is the compute credit used to pay for jobs inside Ocean Network. If your $100 COMPY grant isn’t enough for a larger run, you can convert additional USDC to COMPY and combine it with your Complimentary Credits to cover the full job cost.
Can I change my COMPY to USDC?
No. COMPY Complimentary Credits are intended for use only within Ocean Network for compute and can’t be converted back to USDC. If you need more than your $100 COMPY grant for a larger job, you can convert additional USDC to COMPY to cover the difference.
Are there any gas fees for users and node runners?
Yes. Gas fees apply when interacting with the escrow contract if you’re using a wallet like MetaMask, but the amount is usually very small. Gas sponsorship is only available for smart wallets (users who log in with Email or Google).
